National Teen Driver Safety Week Oct 15-20th 2007.

Congress recently passed a resolution establishing every third week in October as National Teen Driver Safety Week. National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW) will raise awareness about the tragedy of teen vehicle crashes, the leading cause of death for young people in the
U.S. Safety advocates hope the event will spark communication among teenagers, their parents and civic leaders about the causes of and solutions to teen crashes.

Additionally, OHS has a special partnership with the
Smart Drive program , providing safety and statistical information as well as student incentive materials for the program. OHS was also recently awarded a $20,000.00 grant from
Ford’s Driving Skills for Life program. The grant will be used to incorporate the DSFL curriculum into the
Smart Drive program as well as to purchase materials to provide to families attending OHS’s GDL Parent Orientation Program.
